Twickenham Academy GCSE Results

At Twickenham Academy we are celebrating an excellent set of GCSE results with an 11% increase on the number of students achieving A* - C in both English and mathematics from 45 to 56%. An increase of 17% was made with the number of students making expected progress in English. As a result, the gaps are closing considerably between pupil premium and non pupil premium in both core subjects.

Outstanding results were obtained in Biology, Chemistry and Physics with 93% of students securing an A* - C grade with 73% at either an A* or A grade in Biology. The new progress 8 figure which schools nationally are being measured against showed that all our students made expected progress.

These excellent results reflect the hard work of students and the professional commitment of all of our teaching and support staff at Twickenham Academy. As a school, we have met and exceeded some challenging targets for this cohort of students, and I am very pleased that so many of our class of 2016 will now progress to further education with real confidence and a tremendous sense of achievement. I am sure that staff would want to thank our families too, as they have been so supportive yet again throughout the long examination season. The governors and I would like to send the warmest of congratulations to all our Year 11 students.
