Department for Education Summary Report

Headteacher’s Message

Dear Families,

As you are aware, we received a visit from the Department for Education two weeks ago. I am pleased to share a brief summary of their findings:

  1. ‘The pace of change has had an evident impact, students can articulate how the academy is a better place to be this year because they can learn confidently, lessons are not disrupted and they enjoy attending the academy’.
  2. ‘There is a sense of calm and purpose in the academy for the first time in many years’.
  3. ‘There is no doubt that staff have worked extremely hard through term one to establish high expectations and set an ethos and climate for learning that will ensure all students thrive’.

We continue to push forward with our areas for development. These can be found on our school website under the School Development Plan tab. I will be writing to families before half term updating you further on our progress with these.
