Celebrating the topping out of the new Twickenham Academy
On Monday we welcomed Cecilia Carnefeldt, President of Kunskapsskolan and representatives from the London Borough of Richmond Upon Thames to the Academy for  a traditional topping out ceremony.

The ceremony celebrated reaching the highest point in the construction of the new £20 million Twickenham Academy and Nick Jones spoke about what the new building will mean to the students and staff of Twickenham Academy, while Leadbitter´s Project Manager Jeff King gave an overview of the construction progress to date. After a few words from Academy Head Boy Richard Shelly and student council representatives Adam Amory and Chris Jasper, Nick Jones was joined by Cecilia Carnefeldt to place a commemorative stone, which will be used in the final building, to officially mark this important milestone.

Nick Jones, Principal said: “We are delighted to celebrate the enormous progress made in the construction of this iconic academy building. It is an important part of our strategic development at the Academy that will help us to continue with the implementation of our curriculum and learning model. This is already raising aspirations and results at Twickenham Academy. We are also looking forward to the time when the new Academy building will open as a major addition to the facilities available to the local community."
