Getting into the 2012 Spirit at the Olympic Park
On Wednesday 9th May, ten students from Twickenham Academy were given the very special opportunity to visit the Olympic Park. To read Eloise´s account of this exciting day please click here.
After passing through the security systems, we first visited the Velo Park where we watched the school finals of the cycling. We watched about 10 different races. It was very exciting. After lunch, we went to the Olympic Stadium to watch some athletics. It was amazing to be able to see the track and throwing areas that are actually going to be used in the Olympics. This was a particular highlight for me because I got to see different sports being played like hammer throw, long jump, high jump and many more. I would like to say a big thank you to the Richmond School Sport Partnership who got us the tickets and to Mr Thomas and Mr Howell for taking us. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. Eloise Traynor 7L
