Principal's Blog
Dear Parents, Students and Colleagues

I am writing to you with the exciting news that the first stage of the new building has begun with the diggers moving in over the half term making way for the new temporary buildings to arrive in the coming weeks.

Archaeological excavations over half term also found nothing of significance allowing the building schedule to go ahead as planned.

Whilst any major construction works are disruptive, the learning environment and resources available to our students are our top priority and one of the biggest challenges facing us in the immediate future is the relocation of classrooms to the temporary accommodation ‘Learning Villages´.  To enable this to happen as smoothly as possible and with least disruption to the students I have formally requested two additional INSET days around the summer holidays.  These dates have now been confirmed as Friday 15 July 2011 and Monday 5 September 2011.

Therefore please note that the last day of term is now Thursday 14 July 2011, students will be dismissed at 12.20pm.  The new autumn term will begin on Tuesday 6 September for Year 7 only and Wednesday 7 September for all year groups.

I understand that these extra days will cause some inconvenience to parents and we would like to take the opportunity to thank you for your understanding.
